About Fijjibo!!!

Well, seen as your here Id like to share a few things about me and what I do…

Im fijjibo, Im a drummer – nuff said.

At this moment Im aproaching the mark of having been playing drums for 3 years – in a few months anyway…

Ive done sessions, band work and one off projects.

In the past Ive played at Madcap studios, and am working with the Kik music project here in MK.

Most of this site is going to be about Drums – whether about tech drum stuff, or my drumming, or the evolution of my kit.

Id like to think I have reached a certain skill level behind the drums, and many people have complimented me in the past, and id prefer to let other people judge my capabilities.

I do, however, pride myself in off kit stuff – ie, tuning. Im a bit of a perfectionist here, possibly due to past studio experiances, where sound is where its at.

Id like to clear something up about me which most people want to know -

The name – Fijjibo.

Id like if I may to take you back to school days of the past, it was about four years ago, I had a little cartoon that I was working on. This cartoon was rather creatively named *cough* Banjo Bob….  Poor old Bob had no skill whatsoever. In every comic strip he would fail at whatever he tried. Anyway, this never took off. My friends thought it was ok, but I had no intention of doing anything with it.

Well, one day I was just fooling around and somehow came up with the name  Fijjibo. I have always thought that one day I’d find it to be a Japanese swearword or something, but still…..   Anyway, at the time I was completely obsessed with Chinchilla’s for some reason, they kind of reminded me of myself. I decided to try and make a new cartoon – Fijjibo the happy chinchilla.  It is basically a big oval, with two oval feet, two oval ears, and a stick man type face. Hard to describe really, but maybe one day ill dig out a strip to show you. I never really showed many people the comic, as I had no intention of doing anything with it.

Now, over time, the Fijjibo name has become a part of me. I use it for lots of things.

I have myspace, videos on youtube, blogs, a presence on the best drum forum in the world – Drummerworld.com, and all kinds of things.

I am Fijjibo – Fijjibo is me.
